What to Expect on a Photo Shoot

Whether you're stepping in front of the camera for the first time or you're back for your annual family portraits, knowing what to expect on a photo shoot can help you feel confident, prepared, and excited for your session.

As a lifestyle photographer in Atlanta, Georgia, my goal is to make your experience easy, fun, and full of beautiful, authentic moments. Here's a quick guide on what to expect when you book a shoot with me:

1. A Warm Welcome

Once you book your session, you’ll receive a confirmation with the session details, including the location, time, and what to bring. I’ll also send over tips to help you prep, like wardrobe guidance and how to get the kids (or spouse!) camera-ready.

2. Set Location & Natural Light Magic

All sessions take place at a pre-selected outdoor location that offers great lighting and beautiful scenery. I schedule shoots around the golden hour whenever possible (just after sunrise or before sunset) for that soft, dreamy light that makes your photos pop.

3. 30 Minutes of Easy, Guided Fun

Don’t worry about knowing how to pose—I’ll guide you every step of the way. Expect natural prompts, movement-based direction, and moments that make you feel like you're just hanging out with your favorite people (while I catch the magic behind the lens). For families, I’ll keep things light and playful so your kids stay engaged and happy.

4. After the Shoot: What Happens Next

Within 48 hours, I’ll send you a sneak peek from your session. Your full online gallery will be ready within 7–10 business days, where you’ll be able to select your 10 favorite high-resolution images for digital download. If you fall in love with more, additional images are available for $15 each.

5. Final Delivery & Download

Once you've chosen your favorites, you’ll receive your final edited images in a downloadable gallery—ready to print, share, and cherish forever. All images are high-quality and suitable for prints, frames, and photo books.

Pro Tips for a Smooth Session:

• Arrive 5–10 minutes early to settle in

• Dress in coordinating (not matching) outfits

• Bring water, snacks, or toys for little ones

• Relax and enjoy the moment—genuine joy always shines through
